J. Moore & Co. was founded in 1961 by James A. Moore.  Mr. Moore retired in 1996, and company ownership is held by his son Mark (an employee for 32 years who serves as Vice President) and A. MIchael Candido (a 37 year employee who serves as President).

We are a full-service Mechanical Contractor, performing Plumbing, HVAC, and specialty piping.  We also have our won Service Department, and offer 24/7 emergency response.

Our office staff consists of 13 people.  In addition to our welcoming clerical position, we have Project Managers/Estimators, a Service Manager/Dispatcher, a Project Coordinator, Purchasing Department Manager and knowledgeable Accounting Staff.

J. Moore & Co. is a "union" contractor.  Presently we have over 35 Plumbers and Pipefitters, and 3 Service Technicians.  We have signed labor agreements with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 9, Plumbers Local 14 & 24, and Steamfitters Locals 274 & 475.  Our Service Technicians all work under a National Service Agreement.  As a union contractor, we have access to a large labor pool of mechanics that are not only well trained with their career specialties but have also received safety training.  Our Workmen's Compensation's EMR is .862.  We can handle any Mechanical Projects ranging from a $110 Service Call to about a #3 million project, and everything in between.  Our client base is very diversified, with no one client providing more than 10% of the firm's annual revenues.

Through our alliances withother contractors around the country, we are able to offer Mechanical Service and Maintenance agreements to our national clients who have offices throughout the USA.

Our facilities include both an office and a warehouse building in an industrial park in Livingston.  We are 1 mile from Interstate 280, and can provide a rapid response throughout Northern New Jersey.

We are very active in industry and political affairs.  Mr. Candido presently serves on the National Board of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.  In their local New Jersey Chapter, he sits on the Board of Directors and has held every officer's postition including President.  He is currently Treasurer of their PAC Fund as well, and holds local political positions in his home-town.  Mr. Moore presently serves on the local New Jersey MCA's Board, and both are Trustees on Local-Union Taft-Hartley Fringe Benefit Funds.
